Description:Tannat is a rare red grape, probably Basque in origin, principally grown in the Madiran region of France (Pyrenees foothlls) and in Uruguay. It is now also grown in California, where it produces a full-bodied, intensely colored, ruby red wine, wonderfully flavorsome, with highlights of spice, plums, ripe berries and smoke.
