Mourvèdre is variety of red wine grape originated in Spain, where it is also called Mataro or Monastrell. Mourvèdre is a late-ripening varietal used to make both strong, dark red wines and rosés.

Description:A young red wine with no oak. The grapes for Monterebro Joven are grown in the Hamlet of La Aragona (el Paraje de La Aragona) which is located at 750 meters above sea level. Monterebro Joven displays a sensational dark cherry red colour with very good depth and intensity. The nose reveals very attractive but complex aromas with hints of ripe fruit. Very well-structured on the palate. Balanced and lively. Prepared initially using the process of cold maceration, and subsequently by way of traditional or carbonic semi-maceration (maintaining must temperatures at 20˚C to 25˚C and pulp temperatures between 25˚C and 30˚C). Harvest: During the month of October. Harvested by hand. Grape variety: Monastrell 85% Syrah 15% Age of vines: Up to 40 years. Vineyard characteristics: Located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, on stony and calcareous soils, with maximum yields of 1.75 kg per vine. Alcohol: 13.5% Presentation: 75cl Bordeaux Elite or Bag-in-Box (BIB). Serving advice: 16-17°C Accompaniments: Lightly dressed salads, meat paté, noodles, spaghetti, mushrooms, cold meats, blue and white fish, cream cheese, goat’s cheese, red and white meats, roast meat (lamb and pork), cooked chickpeas, etc. Awards: Introductory vintage (2010): ‘International Wine Challenge’ 2012: Commended wine.

Description:The grapes used for the production of this wine are grown in vineyards located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, in the hamlet of La Aragona. The result obtained from this blend is an elegant, seductive wine comprising raspberry aromas with intense floral, fruity expressions. The palate is balanced and intense, with a very pleasant, persistent, ripe fruity aftertaste. Production: cold maceration at 15°C for 6 hours (Monastrell), and cold maceration at 15°C for 24 hours (Syrah), with subsequent static settling and fermentation at controlled temperatures of between 15ºC and 18ºC. Harvest: During the month of October. Grapes harvested by hand. Grape variety: Monastrell 60% Syrah 40% Age of vines: Up to 40 years. Vineyard characteristics: Located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, on stony and calcareous soils, with maximum yields of 1.75 kg per vine. Alcohol: 12.5% Presentation: 75cl Bordeaux Elite or Bag-in-Box (BIB). Serving advice: 6-8°C Accompaniments: Pasta or rice salads, vegetables, fish, poultry, pasta dishes with vegetables or vegetable sauces, pizzas, appetizers or entrées. Awards: New Release. Description:A red wine with 4 months in oak. The grapes used for Monterebro Barrica are picked from old vineyards in the Northwest of Jumilla. The fermentation takes place for a period of 2 weeks at a temperature of 27°C. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine moves into new French and American oak barrels (50/50), where it stays for a period of 4 months. Very intense, with a vivid morello cherry red colour to it. Clean, complex, powerful aromas. Very attractive ripe fruity scents with a hint of quality oak. Well-balanced on the palate, with a good structure. Lively and full of flavour. Full bodied and a very persistent aftertaste. Monterebro Barrica has not been submitted to any kind of stabilization treatment. This may cause the appearance of typical sediments from the natural evolution of the wine. Harvest: During the month of October. Grapes harvested by hand. Grape variety: Monastrell 85% Syrah 15% Age of vines: Up to 60 years. Vineyard characteristics: Located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, on stony and calcareous soils, with maximum yields of 1.5 kg per vine. Alcohol: 14% Presentation: 75cl Bordeaux Elite Conical Trunk. Serving advice: 16-17°C Accompaniments: Cooked rice dishes, vegetables, mushrooms, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meats, red and white meats in sauce, grilled meats, cheese. Description:Demonstrating incredible elegance, depth and intensity, this is a wine in its purest form, having undergone no form of stabilization treatment. Produced from our oldest vineyards, and aged for 12 months in new French and American oak (50/50), the colour is dark and intense, with complex aromas of black fruit, roasted coffee, chocolate and spices. The aftertaste is balanced and very persistent. Since Monterebro Crianza has not been submitted to any form of stabilization treatment, there may be a presence of typical sediments created from the natural evolution of the wine. Harvest: During the month of October. Grapes harvested by hand. Grape variety: Monastrell 85% Syrah 15% Age of vines: Up to 80 years. Vineyard characteristics: Located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, on stony and calcareous soils, with maximum yields of 1.5 kg per vine. Alcohol: 14.5% Presentation: 75cl Bordeaux Elite Conical Trunk. Serving advice: 16-17°C Accompaniments: Game dishes (hare, rabbit, partridge), rice dishes, stews, casseroles, fatty fish (cod, salmon), grilled meats, roasted meats, vegetables, mushrooms, sausages and cheeses.
